Promising French three-year-old Irska, a filly from the same family as Ascot Stud’s promising young sire Global View, maintained her unbeaten record when impressively at Saint-Cloud on Tuesday.
A daughter of Hunter’s Light, Irska, who made all to secure a debut win over 9 1/2 furlongs at Chantilly last time, broke well and gained an immediate lead in this turf bow too. In command throughout, the 13-2 chance was shaken up when threatened passing the two marker and kept on strongly under continued coaxing inside the final furlong to score by 1 1/4 lengths.
Irska, who is out of the smart Medicean mare Eire, is now unbeaten in two starts.
The filly’s third dam is G3 May Hill/Musidora Stakes winner Marillette, whose Canadian Oaks winning granddam South Ocean (best known as the dam of champion and leading sire Storm Bird)also ranks as the fifth dam of Global View.
The latter, a son of the world’s premier sire Galileo, has made a tremendously promising start to his stud career with Global View currently South Africa’s Leading First Crop Sire by both earnings and individual winners.
Himself a graded stakes winner at both two and three, Global View has 21 lots on offer at this year’s Emperors Palace National Yearling Sale.
