Mauritzfontein Stud’s bang in-form resident sire Ideal World was at it again on Wednesday, when the son of Kingmambo had a quick double at the Vaal racecourse.

Ideal World had two winners from just three runners, with both Bell Tower and Sheet Weaver scoring for Dansili’s close relative.
The Riethuiskraal Stud bred Bell Tower got off the mark at just the second time of asking when breaking her maiden over 1450m. The Scott Kenny trained 3yo filly, who enjoyed the step up to 1450m, justified her status as 2-1 tote favourite with a comfortable 0.7 of a length win and she should not stop here.
Bell Tower’s paternal half-brother, Sheet Weaver, gave Ideal World a double when he saluted over 2400m for trainer Alec Laird as tote favourite. Bred by Mauritzfontein, the consistent five-year-old has won or placed in 12 of his 17 outings. Sheet Weaver was a R340 000 purchase from the 2014 Suncoast KZN Yearling Sale.

A proven sire whose best runners include Equus Champions Hermoso Mundo and Smart Call, Ideal World, whose runners have already grossed more than R3 000 000 this season, has a single lot on next month’s Cape Yearling Sale. This is a half-brother to stakes placed seven time winner Jo Malone (Lot 70).
