Ideal World dam to Galileo

9th Mar 2017

Banks Hill, the dam of Mauritzfontein’s successful sire Ideal World, will visit the world’s premier sire, Galileo, in 2017.

This mating, if successful, will produce a full sibling to G1 Prix Jean Romanet winner Romantica (who herself visits Dubawi this year).

Banks Hill was an outstanding racemare, whose five wins included the G1 Breeders’ Cup Filly &Mare Turf, G1 Prix Jacques Le Marois, and the G1 Coronation Stakes. She won or placed in a total of no fewer than 12 G1 races and earned more than £1.3 million in stakes.

Out of the great mare Hasili, Banks Hill is a full-sister to G1 winners Cacique, Champs Elysees and Intercontinental as well as outstanding sire Dansili.

This is also the same family as US champion Leroidesanimaux (whose champion son Animal Kingdom was recently represented by his first winner) and Saturday’s G1 Jebel Hatta hero Decorated Knight.

Proven sire Ideal World has already made a name for himself at stud as the sire of champion Smart Call, Derby winner Cape Speed and G1 filly Persian Rug.

He has five lots on next week’s Cape Yearling Sale –including a colt from the family of champions London News, Kings Gambit and Promisefrommyheart (Lot 6), a filly from the great international family of Arc winner Bago and top sires Danehill, Machiavellian and Northern Dancer (Lot 68), and a three parts brother to July contender and G1 performer Mambo Mime (Lot 86).

Ideal World also has 2 lots on next weekend’s March Yearling Sale –a filly out of useful racemare Black Is Black from the family of G1 Breeders’ Cup runner up Repent (Lot 181) and a filly out of a five time winning daughter of National Assembly and “Flying Filly” Lupine Lady (Lot 197).
