The Sandown Stud based Pathfork has been enjoying an excellent season in 2019-2020 thus far, and the former Irish champion was at it again on Friday, with his blue blooded daughter Scented Garden making a smashing debut at Fairview.
Bred by Highlands, three-year-old Scented Garden proved far too good for her rivals when romping home by 5.75 lengths over 1000m for trainer Alan Greeff and jockey Greg Cheyne.
Scented Garden, who is bred on the same Pathfork/National Assembly cross as multiple stakes winner Madame Speaker, the promising Verbarium and useful Priceless Ruler, is Pathfork’s third winner from his last five runners.
Winner of the 2010 G1 boylesports.com Vincent O’Brien National Stakes, Pathfork has had a good run this season with his star representatives including G3 London News Stakes winner Jet Start, G3 Lebelo Sprint hero Mr Flood, and Model Man Mile hero Fools Gold.
His talented son Mr Flood, a winner of his last four in a row, is a leading contender for Saturday’s G3 Tommy Hotspur Handicap.
A half-brother to last year’s G1 Preakness Stakes winner War Of Will, Pathfork has four lots on the upcoming Cape Yearling Sale.
