Highlands Farm Stud’s in-form sire Antonius Pius has a top class draft of 2yos this season, and the son of Danzig was represented by another impressive juvenile debut winner on Tuesday.
His gelded son Tribal Force made a smart, winning debut for 2yo king Corne Spies when scoring by 1.1 lengths over 1000m at Turffontein –stamping himself a 2yo to follow in the process.

Bred by Favour Stud, Tribal Force is out of the Trippi mare Tripple Dart.
His sire Antonius Pius, a former Leading First Crop Sire, has only been represented by a handful of two-year-old runners this season but his tally of winners includes the brilliant, undefeated filly Kissable, who has won her only two starts by an aggregate of nearly 14 lengths.
Runner up to Singletary in the 2004 G1 Breeders’ Cup Mile (where he beat the Breeders’ Cup winners Six Perfections and Artie Schiller), Antonius Pius is a proven sire, whose other notable runners included the graded winners Antonius Du Bois, Belong To Me and My Sanctuary.
He has 2 lots on offer at the CTS March Yearling Sale –a filly out of a G2 placed winner of nine (Lot 126) and a full-sister to the smart performer Updike (Lot198).
