Maine Chance Farms increasingly successful sire Querari had a very smart looking debut winner at the Vaal racecourse on Thursday afternoon.
His two-year-old daughter Slalom Queen made a very positive first impression when winning at the first time of asking for Sean Tarry and Luke Ferraris.
Bred by the Lammerskraal Stud, Slalom Queen was always prominent, and when Ferraris asked her the question, the filly drew clear and went on to post a 2.25 length win (over male rivals) in a juvenile plate over 1000m.
Out of the Western Winter mare Blizzard Belle, Slalom Queen was a R300 000 buy from the 2019 Emperors Palace National Yearling Sale.
The filly is the second juvenile winner for Querari this season, with Querari the Leading Sire of 2Yos in South Africa last season.
Sire of nearly 40 stakes horses, including such graded stakes winners as Querari Falcon, Mill Queen, Kangaroo Jack, Head Honcho and Cockney Pride, Querari’s progeny have earned more than R5.6 million in stakes this season thus far.
