The Alchemy based Where’s That Tiger was responsible for an eye catching debut winner when Perfect Tigress (a member of her sire’s first South African crop) won first time out at Turffontein on Saturday.
From the yard of Mike and Adam Azzie, 2yo Perfect Tigress ran on strongly down the inside to get up close to home and score a 0.6 of a length win over 1200m.
Bred by the Hemel ‘N Aarde Stud, the filly is out of the Toreador mare Tree Of Perfection.
She is one of a number of smart looking 2yos to have emerged from Where’s That Tiger’s first South African crop, with others including Langerman entry Temp The Tiger and The Pink Panther, narrowly beaten last time out when denied victory by a short head.
To date, Where’s That Tiger’s first South African crop includes seven first crop runners to have won or placed.
A son of multiple champion sire Storm Cat, Where’s That Tiger’s few previous local runners include the high class stakes winner Tiger’s Touch, Tiger Quest and Supertube.
Out of a full-sister to Kentucky Derby winner and proven G1 sire Fusaichi Pegasus, Where’s That Tiger has two colts on offer at the 2018 KZN Yearling Sale. His KZN Sale pair include a colt out of a six time winning Al Mufti half-sister to School Assembly (Lot 147), and a colt out of a mare who was third in the G2 SA Fillies Nursery (Lot 195).
