Highlands Farms Stud’s exciting resident sire Great Britain, whose offspring have been enjoying such success this season, had a most impressive two-year-old winner on Friday.

Great Britain’s son Dickensian hacked up to win by six and a quarter lengths over 1000m at Fairview for trainer Gavin Smith.
The gelding, who was bred by Highlands, had been second and third on his first two outings and could not have been more impressive.

Dickensian, a R110 000 buy from the 2016 National 2YO Sale, is the third juvenile winner this season for Great Britain, whose 2yo son Whorly Whorly lines up in Saturday’s G3 Protea Stakes on Classic Day at Turffontein.

Great Britain, an Al Quoz Sprint winning own brother to retired world leading sire Cape Cross, has enjoyed plenty of success this season, with his daughters Wrecking Ball and Queen Laurie running 1-3 in the G3 Tommy Hotspur Handicap, and another daughter, Hashtag Strat, landing the Listed Swallow Stakes.
