Varsfontein Stud’s resident sire Judpot has been enjoying a good run of form, with his runners excelling the country over.
Judpot’s daughter Polyphonic picked up her second feature race victory when she won the G2 Gerald Rosenberg Stakes on Champions Day at Turffontein last weekend.
The Varsfontein Stud bred filly, who had previously won the Listed Jacaranda Handicap two starts back, took her tally to four and her earnings to over R720 000 with a 0.35 of a length win over G3 Yellowwood Handicap winner Girl On The Run in Saturday’s R400 000 feature. Polyphonic has now won or placed in five graded races.
Another Judpot filly, former G2 Golden Slipper winner Final Judgement, confirmed her place as one of the better 3yo fillies around when a good second in Sunday’s G2 Daisy Fillies Guineas at Greyville. Surely it won’t be long before the beautifully bred Final Judgement picks up another feature race win –Sunday’s being Final Judgement’s second consecutive runner up in graded contest.
Judpot added to his ongoing success when his 2yo son Forafewdollarsmore made a winning debut for champion trainer Sean Tarry over 1400m at the Vaal on Thursday.
Bred by Ten Einde Farm, Forafewdollarsmore defied a slow start to run on powerfully to win first time out.
A R100 000 purchase from last year’s March Yearling Sale, Forafewdollarsmore was the seventh juvenile winner for his sire this season, with Judpot having been represented by more 2yo winners in 2016-2017 than all of Dynasty, Silvano, What A Winter and Querari.
A son of A P Indy, Judpot was once again popular at the recent National Yearling Sale, where his yearlings made up to R1.2 million.
