Judpot 2yos catch the eye at Greyville

1st Jun 2017

Varsfontein Stud’s top class stallion Judpot, sire of this season’s multiple feature race winner Polyphonic, has some impressive two-year-olds to his credit this season.

Along Came Polly

The son of A P Indy was represented by two more eye catching juveniles at Greyville on Wednesday afternoon, when his son Judgemental made a winning debut for trainer Alistair Gordon and another 2yo by Judpot, Torrey Pines, ran second first time out and should soon add to her sire’s tally of two-year-old winners for the season.

Bred by the Ambiance Stud, Judgemental ran on strongly to break his maiden over 1200m first time out on Wednesday and he looks a smart sort in the making. A half-brother to Listed Swallow Stakes winner Mambonick, Judgemental was a R160 000 buy from last year’s National Yearling Sale.

Former Equus Outstanding Stallion Judpot has been represented by no fewer than nine juvenile winners this season.

Juxtapose

Judpot will be strongly represented in Saturday’s graded features at Greyville. He has three sons, Rocketball, Three Balloons and Impact Zone, in the G3 Lonsdale Stirrup Cup, while daughters Final Judgement and Bi Pot both take part in the G1 Woolavington 2000 on the same card.

The half-brother to Kingmambo has four quality lots on offer at the 2017 KZN Yearling Sale, including a half-brother to globetrotting sprint star Tiza (Lot18).
