Varsfontein Stud’s in-form sire Judpot is from one of the best families in the stud book, and the son of A P Indy received yet another boost to his stellar family when a close relative made a winning debut at Chantilly on Thursday.
Rashke (by Redoute’s Choice) justified favouritism when romping to a 3.5 length win over 1600m for Andre Fabre and Godolphin and the 3yo colt looks to have a bright future ahead of him.
The blue blooded three-year-old is out of G2 Ribblesdale Stakes winner Silkwood (a daughter of Singspiel and Woodman mare Wood Vine).
Rashke’s third dam, Prix Amandine winner Massaraat, is a full-sister to 10 time G1 winner and champion Miesque (dam of Judpot and French classic winners East Of The Moon and Kingmambo).
This is also the family of Breeders’ Cup Mile winners Karakontie and Six Perfections.
Judpot is enjoying another good season, with his notable recent winners including highly regarded juvenile debut winner Nous Voila –a potential candidate for the G1 Allan Robertson Fillies Championship.
The chestnut has nine lots on the2018 April Yearling Sale and 12 lots on this year’s Emperors Palace National Yearling Sale.
