Judpot two-year-old romps home

17th Jan 2020

The Vogel Vlei Stud based Judpot looks to have a potentially high-class two-year-old to his name in the form of War Room.

The latter made it two wins from as many outings when scoring a facile, six and a half length in a juvenile plate over 1000m at the Vaal on Thursday.
War Room, sent off a 2-10 favourite for Thursday’s race, is trained by Paul Peter and was ridden on Thursday by inform jockey Warren Kennedy.

The Ndoro Stud bred colt has now won two races from as many starts, with War Room having impressed when winning over 1000m at Turffontein first-time out.

Out of the Joshua Dancer mare Magnificent Maggie, War Room was a R120 000 buy from the 2019 Emperors Palace National Yearling Sale.

His regally bred son Judpot, an A.P. Indy half-brother to two French classic winners, is a well established sire, with Judpot’s 30 plus stakes horses headed by the G1 winners Along Came Polly, Coral Fever, Forest Indigo and Juxtapose.

From the same family as promising young sire, and Breeders’ Cup Mile winner, Karakontie, Judpot has two colts on offer at February’s Cape Yearling Sale.
