Lancaster Bomber to make a splash at Kenilworth

22nd Nov 2022

Drakenstein Stud’s much missed War Front horse Lancaster Bomber is set to be represented by two members of his first crop at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth on Sunday.

Lancaster Bomber’s two-year-old daughters Savic and Runway Bomb are both set to make their respective racecourse debuts in Sunday’s Hollywoodbets Kenilworth Welcomes You Maiden Juvenile Plate (Fillies) (900m) this weekend.
Trained by Justin Snaith, the Rathmor Stud bred Savic gets the services of Muzi Yeni on Sunday, while the Drakenstein Stud bred Runway Bomb, also trained by Snaith, will be partnered on Sunday by Richard Fourie.
Savic is out of the Captain Al mare Perfumed Lady, while Runway Bomb is a daughter of Var mare Schiffer.
Lancaster Bomb, who died in 2021, was one of the very best sons of outstanding sire War Front.
The latter has sired more than 100 stakes winners to date, with War Front’s other notable progeny including champion, and successful sire, Declaration Of War, G1 Preakness Stakes victor War Of Will,
Lancaster Bomber, a half-brother to triple G1 winner Excelebration and full-brother to 2022 G3 Seagram Cup Stakes winner War Bomber, was a superb racehorse who finished first, second or third in seven G1 races, and won the 2018 G1 Tattersalls Gold Cup in fine fashion.
The striking bay has some exceptionally well bred two-year-olds representing him this season, including juveniles out of such well performed racemares as Beach Beauty, Cash Register, Demanding Lady, Snowdance and Spiced Gold.
