Master Of My Fate enjoys National success

2nd May 2018

Varsfontein Stud’s exciting young stallion Master Of My Fate, whose first two-year-olds continue to show tremendous promise, enjoyed a consistent level of success at the recently held Emperors Palace National Yearling Sale.

Master Of Illusion

The regally bred son of Jet Master had eight of his nine lots sell during the select session of the National Sale with Master Of My Fate’s select yearlings grossing R3 395 000 and averaging an impressive R424 375.

Master Of My Fate, the son of champions Jet Master and Promisefrommyheart, had a top lot in the form of Master Of Illusion (Lot 90), a Varsfontein Stud consigned colt who fetched R900 000 when purchased by Nick Jonsson.

Other yearlings by the promising stallion to make good prices during the select session included Sea Scape and Policy Target, bought for R600 000 apiece by prominent bloodstock agents John Freeman and James Bester respectively.

The handsome bay also enjoyed notable success in the second session of trading at the 2018 National Sale, with Master Of My Fate responsible for yearlings fetching up to R450 000 during the session.

MOMF’s top class relative Hashtagyolo

Master Of My Fate ended the second session as Second Leading Sire by aggregate, with his yearlings grossing R3 505 000-placing him above such top class sires as Twice Over, What A Winter, and Dynasty.

In total, the Varsfontein Stud based sire had 23 of his 25 yearlings offered sell for R6 900 000, with his yearlings purchased by some of the most respected names in the business.

A winner of six of his only eight outings, and the top colt sold off the 2011 Emperors Palace National Yearling Sale, Master Of My Fate has already been represented by five winners including recent Godolphin Barb Stakes placegetter Goliath Heron and Sunday’s Listed Somerset 1200 contender Twist Of Fate.
