Master Of My Fate filly lands Breeders Guineas Plate

24th Jan 2025

Varsfontein Stud’s high-class stallion Master Of My Fate has come up with another high-class daughter in the form of Splicethemainbrace.
The latter made it eight wins from ten starts when she won the Breeders Guineas Plate (Fillies) (1400m) at Fairview on Friday.
Trained by Alan Greeff, three-year-old Splicethemainbrace was sent off the 2-11 favourite for Friday’s contest and duly obliged.
Under Richard Fourie, the Master Of My Fate filly raced at the back of the field early on, before being unleashed close home.
From there, Splicethemainbrace powered away to win convincingly by a length and three quarters.
Bred by Varsfontein Stud, Splicethemainbrace won all of the Listed East Cape Fillies Nursery, Listed East Cape Nursery and Listed Lady’s Slipper at two.
The filly, who is out of the Sail From Seattle mare Summer Cruise, was a R200 000 buy from the 2023 August Two Year Old Sale.
Master Of My Fate also came up with a good-looking debut winner on Friday. His two-year-old daughter Anotherdanceforme made the perfect start to her career when she won the Welcome To Nelson Mandela Bay Racing Maiden Juvenile Plate (Fillies) over 1000m.
Under Richard Fourie, the Alan Greeff-trained filly romped home to win on debut by two lengths, and she looks to have a bright future ahead of her.
Bred by Varsfontein Stud, Anotherdanceforme is out of the What A Winter mare Destiny Dancer, making her a full-sister to Listed Sweet Chestnut Stakes winner Princess Izzy.

Her sire was responsible for three of the first four winners at Fairview on Friday, with Master Of My Fate gelding Master Forester victorious in the fourth race at Fairview.
Master Of My Fate is having a fine season in 2024-2025, with his flagbearers headed by G1 Betway Summer Cup winner Atticus Finch.
