Mid-week double for Dynasty

31st Aug 2017

Highlands Stud’s red hot sire Dynasty, currently South Africa’s Leading Sire by Stakes, has made a scintillating start to the 2017-2018.

Just Sensual

The former Horse Of The Year, whose daughters Harvard Crimson and Qing ran 1-4 in Friday’s Listed Jockey Club Stakes, had a pair of smart looking winners at Kenilworth on Wednesday when sons Dex Dexter and Our Emperor won their respective races.

The Varsfontein Stud bred four-year-old Dex Dexter, who is closely inbred to Sadler’s Wells, made it two wins from only three outings when scoring an impressive victory over 1600m for fledgling trainer Dan Katz.

Dynasty’s second winner on the card came when the Wilgerbosdrift/Mauritzfontein bred Our Emperor, a R475 000 purchase from the 2015 Val De Vie Yearling Sale, won a good race for in-form trainer Brett Crawford over 1800m.

Bela-Bela

Our Emperor, who is a full-brother to G3 Acacia Handicap third Noor, has now won two on the bounce for connections.

Last season’s Equus Outstanding Stallion, Dynasty is the sire of nearly 50 stakes winners and 13 individual G1 winners.
