Maine Chance Farms’ inform sire Vercingetorix has made a blistering start to his stud career and the champion son of multiple champion sire Silvano recorded another smart double at Turffontein on Monday.
His promising three-year-old daughter Seehaam got off the mark at just the second time of asking on Monday when scoring by a length and a quarter over 1450m under Luke Ferraris.
Trained by Sean Tarry, the Al Adaayit bred and owned filly had been third over 1200m at her only previous start.
Out of G2 Charity Mile winner Alderry, Seehaam is a three-parts sister to G1 SA Derby winner Al Sahem and G1 Gauteng Chris Gerber Summer Cup third Al Mutwakel.
Her Jebel Hatta winning sire Vercingetorix enjoyed further success on Monday, when his Alec Laird trained son Creation powered home, under Nathank Link, to land a MR 85 divided handicap (1450m) by a length and a half going away!
Another from his sire’s first crop, the Maine Chance Farms bred Creation has now won or placed in seven of his nine outings.
The gelding has a Querari half-brother (Lot 83) on offer at this year’s National Sale.
An unbeaten champion in South Africa, Vercingetorix has made a stellar start to his stud career with his first crop headed by millionaire African Warrior, Gauteng Guineas hero Ikigai, and G2 World Sports Betting Guineas runner up Padre Pio and his second by G3 Strelitzia Stakes winner Vernichey.
