Varsfontein Stud’s young stallion Master Of My Fate has made a tremendous start to his stud career and the charismatic son of Jet Master was represented by a second first crop winner when his son Lucky Dancer won on Saturday.
Trained by Joey Ramsden, and bred by Ditro Bloodstock, Lucky Dancer improved off a fourth place finish on debut by scoring his first win by 1.25 lengths over 1000m at Kenilworth.
The Master Of My Fate colt, who was produced by the Tiger Ridge mare Shedrivesmecrazy, was steered to victory by jockey Anton Marcus.
Lucky Dancer was a R320 000 buy from the 2017 CTS Ready To Run Sale.
At the time of writing, Master Of My Fate has been represented by just four first crop runners, but three of them have either won or finished in the money, with this tally including impressive debut winner Twist Of Fate.
The son of seven times champion sire Jet Master won six of eight starts including both the G2 Premier Trophy and G2 Peninsula Handicap.
Master Of My Fate, currently South Africa’s Leading First Crop Sire by winners, is from a bang in-form family, with his winning half-sister My Guiding Star dam of this season’s unbeaten G3 Flamboyant Stakes winner Hashtagyolo. The latter is being prepared a campaign tilted towards the G2 Wilgerbosdrift Gauteng Fillies Guineas.
Another half-sister to this promising young sire is dam of multiple G3 winner Captain Splendid, a close third in the recent G3 Heineken Chairman’s Cup.
