Drakenstein Stud’s promising sire Philanthropist was represented by another juvenile winner when Cool At Heart scored at Scottsville on Wednesday.
Cool At Heart, bred by Sanet Jordaan, dug down deep to withstand the challenge of Rock My Soul to score by a long head, with the Uncle Mo colt Coys back in fourth.

Dispatched the second favourite for Wednesday’s 1400m contest, Cool At Heart had been runner up at his last outing and is unlikely to stop with this mid-week win.
He is the fourth juvenile winner for Philanthropist this season, with the son of Kris S’ other 2yo winners including Listed Ruffian Stakes runner up Outlander and Tsessebe, both of whom are set to contest Saturday week’s G2 Gold Circle Golden Slipper at Greyville.
A son of Kris S, Philanthropist has made a tremendous start to his stud career in South Africa, with his first runners including the graded winners Singapore Sling and She’s A Giver, with the latter a contestant in the upcoming G1 Jonsson Workwear Garden Province Stakes.
Philanthropist, a former leading sire in North America, will be represented by two yearlings at next week’s KZN Yearling Sale –a half-sister to five winners including stakes winning sprinter Doing It For Dan (Lot 147), and a filly from the same family as this season’s dual Guineas winner Janoobi (Lot 214).
