National Currency success for Heavenly Blue

25th Feb 2025

Ascot Stud’s G1 winning stallion Heavenly Blue was the toast of Turffontein on Monday when his son Truth won the postponed G3 4Racing National Currency Sprint.
The Candice Dawson trained three-year-old picked up his biggest win to date when running out a convincing winner of Monday’s 1100m sprint.
Racing up with the pace, the Muzi Yeni ridden Truth ran on strongly down the centre of the track to win by just under a length and a quarter.
Bred by the Tawny Syndidate, Truth has won four of nine starts for earnings of R455 000.
Truth is out of the Frankel mare Frankly.
A drop back to sprints clearly suited Truth, with the latter having shown great promise at two when his first two starts by an aggregate of 11.5 lengths.
The grey looks destined to continued his career in sprint races, with Truth’s connections hopeful he can continue to excel in features.
His G1 SA Classic winning sire Heavenly Blue has two lots on offer at the Premier Yearling Sale including a half-brother (Lot 196) to smart performers Busstopinhounslow and Pragmatist.
The son of four time Australian Champion Sire Snitzel also has some exceptionally well bred yearlings on offer at the National Yearling Sale, including a half-brother (Lot 53) to G1 Champions Challenge winner Coral Fever, and a full-brother (Lot 250) to Listed Lady’s Pendant winner Three Rocks.
