Noble Tune relative popular at Keeneland

10th Sep 2019

A filly closely related to Millstream Farm’s resident sire Noble Tune proved popular on the first day of trading at the 2019 Keeneland September Yearling Sale on Monday.
Consigned by Denali Stud, Agent XLII, the Curlin filly (Lot 76) was knocked down to Shadwell Stud for $800 000.

The well bred yearling is out of Serena’s Harmony –a Tapit half-sister (and $3 million purchase) to four stakes horses, notably US champion and dual G1 winner Honor Code and to G2 American Turf/Pilgrim Stakes winner Noble Tune.

The chestnut filly’s second dam is the stakes winning Storm Cat mare Serena’s Cat –a half-sister to G3 winner and successful sire Vocalised, and a three-parts sister to G1 Coronation Stakes heroine Sophisticat.

Noble Tune, runner up in the 2012 G1 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf, is the only son of outstanding US sire Unbridled’s Song ever to come to stud in South Africa.
Unbridled’s Song, whose sire sons include the G1 sires Cross Traffic, Rockport Harbor, First Defence, Liam’s Map, and Old Fashioned, left behind more than 110 stakes winners including champions Arrogate, Midshipman, Forever Unbridled, and Will Take Charge.
