Klawervlei Stud’s G1 July winning sire Pomodoro has been enjoying a rich vein of form of late, with Pomodoro sired runners making their mark across South Africa this season.
Pomodoro’s ever growing list of winners including the very smart filly Dancing Dora, who made it four wins in a row when downing a very useful field to win at the Vaal on Tuesday afternoon.
Trained by Fanie Bronkhurst, four-year-old Dancing Dora came into Tuesday’s 1000m race having won each of her three previous starts and she duly made it four in a row with a convincing performance.
Under Chase Maujean, the Klawervlei Stud bred Dancing Dora hit the front 100m from home and kept finding more to win a shade cosily by half a length, with the previously unbeaten Mythical Dream well held in third spot.
She joins a growing list of talented fillies sired by Pomodoro, with others including dual G1 winner, and Equus Champion, Return Flight, graded stakes winners Epsom Girl and Golden Belle, and last season’s G2 Zulu Kingdom Explorer Golden Slipper runner up Woodland Retreat.
