Streak Of Silver, a half-brother to Highlands Stud’s well performed young stallion Potala Palace, picked up his fifth career victory when successful over 1400m at Kenilworth on Tuesday.
The gelded son of Silvano, who is trained by Eric Sands, has now won or placed in 14 of his 23 outings and has banked well over R300 000 in prize money.
Streak Of Silver is one of seven winners produced by Alzao’s G3 Prestige Stakes runner up Alignment, with others including the above mentioned Potala Palace and the G3 filly Allegoria.
Alignment is also granddam of G3 Dubai City Of Gold winner Excellent Result and G3 Robert J Frankel Stakes winner Midnight Crossing.
Alignment’s son Potala Palace, whose very first runner, Watsonia, was a winner, was a top class racehorse.
The handsome bay won the G1 Premier’s Champion Stakes (downing subsequent leading sire Gimmethegreenlight in the process) at two, and trained on well to land the G3 Joburg Spring Challenge, over a top class field, at five.
One of 14 G1 winners sired by world champion Singspiel, Potala Palace has two lots on the 2018 April Yearling Sale and another two yearlings at this year’s National Yearling Sale.
