Klipdrif Stud’s exciting new sire Quasillo has got his stud career off to the perfect start with the very first mare covered tested in foal.

Quasillo, who had successfully passed fertility tests before leaving Germany, has attracted great praise since arriving in South Africa and he looks on course for a good career in the Cape.
Klipdrif’s Bennie Marais is delighted with the son of Sea The Stars, saying of Quasillo, ““He is covering very well and we have had no complaints from anyone that has sent a mare”.
A winner of two of just three outings, including the G3 Bavarian Classic, Quasillo is a half-brother to Maine Chance Farms’ G1 winner and successful sire Querari and to the Breeders’ Cup bound Quidura, winner of Saturday’s G2 Canadian Stakes at Woodbine.
His sire Sea The Stars has enjoyed yet another magnificent season in 2017, with his stakes winners including the G1 winners Cloth Of Stars (Prix Ganay), Mekhtaal (Prix d’Ispahan) and Stradivarius (Goodwood Cup).
A half-brother to the immortal Galileo, Sea The Stars, one of the greatest racehorses of the century, is also responsible for the Investec sponsored classic winners Harzand (Derby) and Taghrooda (Oaks), with Harzand now standing alongside his sire at the Gilltown Stud in Ireland.
