Querari brother off the mark!

21st Aug 2017

Sharja Bridge, a full-brother to Maine Chance Farms’ top class sire Querari and ¾ brother to Klipdrif Stud’s new stallion Quasillo, got off the mark in good style on Friday afternoon.

Querari

The son of Oasis Dream, from the red hot yard of Roger Varian, ran on smartly under jockey Andrea Atzeni to score by four lengths at Nottingham and the 3yo Sharja Bridge, who cost 500,000 guineas from the 2015 Tattersalls October Yearling Sale and who has now won or placed in all three of his outings, should continue to progress from here.

Quetena, the dam of Sharja Bridge, is an outstanding broodmare with the daughter of Acatenango having produced three group/graded winners, including champion and G1 winner Querari and G3 Bavarian Classic winner Quasillo (who makes his South African covering debut this season).

The stakes winning Quetena is also the dam of 2016 Pin Oak G3 Valley View Stakes winner Quidura who was beaten a head into second in this year’s G1 Diana Stakes. To date, Quidura (surely a G1 winner in waiting) has banked more than $370 000 in prize money.

Quasillo

Sharja Bridge’s brother Querari has enjoyed plenty of success this year with his runners including the very progressive Listed Darley Arabian winner Maximizer as well as the high class performers Joking, Wonderwall, Made In Hollywood and Monks Hood.

His close relative Quasillo is the only son of champion and leading sire Sea The Stars currently at stud in South Africa.
