Querari filly lands Breeders Guineas Plate

8th Feb 2020

Maine Chance Farms’ G1 winning sire Querari, South Africa’s Leading Sire of 2Yos last season, has a smart looking filly on his hands in the form of Luna Wish.

The latter picked up another feature race win when landing the Breeders Guineas Plate at Fairview on Friday afternoon.
Three-year-old Luna Wish, one of four winners on the day for trainer Alan Greeff, made it win number  five from just ten starts when flying up late to score a neck win (going away) in Friday’s 1300m contest.

Backed down to tote favouritism for the Breeders Guineas Plate where she was ridden by Greg Cheyne, the versatile Luna Wish has now won feature races on both polytrack and turf.

Bred by Bruce Le Roux, Luna Wish had previously won the Listed Lady’s Slipper Stakes at two, and earlier this season captured the Guineas Plate.

Out of the Silvano mare Imperial Wish, Luna Wish is bred on the same Querari/Silvano cross as graded stakes winners Cosmic Light and Wonderwall.

Her G1 winning sire Querari is also responsible for this season’s G3 HSH Princess Charlene Starling Stakes winner Mill Queen –a leading contender for the postponed G2 Wilgerbosdrift Gauteng Fillies Guineas.
