Maine Chance Farms’ bang in-form sire Querari was responsible for another eye catching winner on Friday, when his progressive three-year-old daughter Luna Wish romped to a clear-cut and impressive win in the Racing Association Guineas Plate at Fairview.
Bred by Bruce le Roux, the Alan Greeff trained Luna Wish made it win number four from only seven starts, when staying on nicely down the inside to post a deceptively easy, one and a quarter length win under jockey Bernard Fayd’Herbe in Friday’s 1400m contest.
Luna Wish, the Champion 2YO Filly in the Eastern Cape last season, had been among the better 2yos of her generation in the Eastern Cape in 2018-2019.
Bred on the same Querari/Silvano cross as graded stakes winners Cosmic Light and Wonderwall, Luna Wish’s previous efforts included a win in last season’s Listed Lady’s Slipper Stakes and she is yet to finish out of the money in seven starts.
Her sire Querari, the Leading Sire of 2Yos in South Africa for 2018-2019, has been in tremendous form of late, with his recent flagbearers including G3 HSH Princess Charlene Starling Stakes winner Mill Queen, the unbeaten Querari Ferrari, and millionaire Head Honcho.
The G1 winning son of Oasis Dream has 12 lots on offer at the upcoming CTS Ready To Run Sale.
