Fresh off recording a double at Hollywoodbets Greyville on Saturday, Maine Chance Farms’ inform resident stallion Querari supplied an eye catching debut winner at Kenilworth the following day.
His two-year-old daughter La Quinta made a smart introduction to racing when she scored a one and a quarter length win over 1100m at the first time of asking on Sunday.
Trained by Justin Snaith, La Quinta was ridden to victory by MJ Byleveld.
The Maine Chance Farms bred La Quinta, who picked up a Bloodstock South Africa value added bonus of R60 000, was a R250 000 buy from the 2019 Emperors Palace National Yearling Sale.
Out of the Silvano mare La Calisto, La Quinta is bred on the same Querari/Silvano cross as the stakes winners Cosmic Light, Wonderwall and Luna Wish.
She is the eleventh two-year-old winner for Querari this season thus far, with last season’s Leading Sire of 2YOs also responsible for the likes of G3 Strelitzia Stakes runner up Slalom Queen, impressive debut winners Hyde Park and Invincabelle, and the stakes placed Herrin.
La Quinta was one of two winners for Querari at Kenilworth on Sunday, with the sire’s daughter Mountain Ridge going on to win the third race.
Querari had previously enjoyed a notable double at Hollywoodbets Greyville the previous day, with his sons Thomas Henry and Wonderwall winning races three and ten respectively.
A G1 winning son of champion sprinter Oasis Dream, Querari has 28 lots on offer at the 2020 National Sale.
