Outstanding producer Quetena, dam of Cape sires Querari and Quasillo, will visit the great sire Dubawi in 2018.
Dubawi, sire of Quetena’s G2 Canadian Stakes winning daughter Quidura, is an exceptional stallion who sports a stud fee of £250 000.
A triple G1 winner, who rates as one of the finest stallions anywhere on the planet, Dubawi’s 146 stakes winners include a staggering 34 individual G1 winners. Among the major races won by progeny of Dubawi are the 2000 Guineas (twice), Dubai World Cup (twice), King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes, Coronation Cup, Juddmonte International (twice), French Derby and Grand Prix de Paris.
Quetena, a daughter of legendary German champion Acatenango and German 1000 Guineas winner Quebrada, was a smart racemare who won three times including the Listed pferdewetten.de-Criterium.
However, it is as a broodmare that Quetena has made her mark. The mare has produced a total of 3 group/graded winners headed by Maine Chance Farms’ very successful resident sire Querari.
The latter, whose recent stakes winners include exported G2 Gauteng Guineas hero Monks Hood and Listed Ruffian Stakes heroine Dagmar, won four times including the G1 Premio Presidente Repubblica.
Querari’s close relative Quasillo (the only son of Sea The Stars at stud in South Africa) was also a talented racehorse. The chestnut won two of three starts, including the G3 Bavarian Classic, and stood his season at stud in South Africa in 2017.
