Saturday treble for Seventh Rock

5th Dec 2017

Klawervlei Stud’s proven G1 winning stallion Seventh Rock enjoyed a memorable weekend, when represented by three impressive winners on Saturday.
First of the Seventh Rock winners to score was his three-year-old son Israel, who made an eye catching winning debut for Kirk Swanson at Borrowdale on Saturday.

Guiness

Bred by the Rumbavu Park Stud, the gelding won in smart style over 1260m in the style of a horse who will win his races.

Another son of Seventh Rock who won impressively for trainer Kirk Swanson at Borrowdale this weekend was the unbeaten Edward The Seventh.
The latter, like Israel bred by Rumbavu Park Stud, made it three wins from as many outings when landing the Tote Free Handicap by 2.5 lengths.

Seventh Rock also had a smart looking debut winner at Turffontein on Saturday when his daughter Colour Of Light won first time out for champion trainer Sean Tarry.
Bred by Klawervlei, the 3yo Colour Of Light impressed when running on powerfully to score first time out, beating the well-bred favourite Tia in taking style, over 1160 metres.

Colour Of Light was a R180 000 buy from the 2016 March Yearling Sale.

Champion Seventh Plain

Seventh Rock, himself winner of the G1 Gold Medallion at two, shares his sire Rock Of Gibraltar with ill-fated sire sensation Society Rock, whose first 2yos this year included G1 Prix Morny winner Unfortunately.

Another son of Rock Of Gibraltar, Mount Nelson, is the sire of recent G1 Qipco British Champion Sprint Stakes winner Librisa Breeze.
Sire of champion Seventh Plain, who ran a good second in pinnacle stakes over 1400m on Sunday, and G1 Gold Medallion hero Guiness, Seventh Rock has some exceptionally well bred youngsters yet to reach the track and he remains a sire to watch!
