Maine Chance Farms’ multiple champion sire Silvano came up with an eye catching two-year-old winner at the Vaal on Thursday afternoon.
His Mike de Kock trained son Al Madhar looked a colt to follow when romping home to a two and a quarter length win over 1600m on Thursday.
Under jockey Sherman Brown, the Shadwell Stud bred and owned Al Madhar pulled clear to register an authorative win at the first time out.
His sire’s second juvenile winner this season (following the promising Due Diligence), Al Madhar is out of the Shamardal mare Shahrasal.
Silvano, whose highly promising G1 Jebel Hatta winning son Vercingetorix has already supplied four winners this week, is once again leading South Africa’s General Sires List, with his progeny having already earned in excess of R12.922 million in stakes for 2019-2020.
South Africa’s reigning champion sire has 30 lots on offer at the 2020 Emperors Palace National Yearling Sale.
