Maine Chance Farms’ outstanding sire Silvano looks on track to record his fourth July winner this Saturday with the running of the G1 Vodacom Durban July at Greyville.
Silvano, whose previous July winners include Bold Silvano, Heavy Metal and Power King (the latter beating Silvano sons Punta Arenas and Tellina into second and third in 2015), will be represented by no fewer than five runners in the R4.25 million July, while fellow July runner Horizon is out of Silvano’s full-sister Shina.
(Silvano would have had six runners in the July had his son Elusive Silva not been scratched).
Silvano’s 2017 Vodacom Durban July runners are
Marinaresco –Equus Champion and runner up in the 2016 Vodacom Durban July
Nightingale –winner of the G1 Klawervlei Majorca Stakes, 2nd G2 Tibouchina Stakes

Between them, Silvano’s five July runners have won 22 races and earned more than R7.63 million in prize money.
Silvano, who was represented by his 13th stakes winner this season when daughter Silvan Star landed the Listed Highlands Stud Ladies Mile at Kenilworth on Saturday, will also be represented by three runners in the G1 Jonsson Workwear Garden Province Stakes on the same day.
