Sunday double for Noble Tune

23rd Mar 2020

Millstream Farm’s well performed resident stallion Noble Tune had a good day at Hollywoodbets Greyville on Sunday when his sons Paths Of Victory and Noble Joshua won races four and five respectively.

The Rathmor Stud bred Paths Of Victory made it win number four when holding off former G1 SA Derby third Marchingontogether to land a pinnacle stakes over 2400m on Sunday. (Another son of Noble Tune, White Lightning ran third to Paths Of Victory).

Runner up in the 2019 Michaelmas Handicap, the gelded four-year-old took his earnings to nearly R400 000 with his convincing score in Sunday’s race. Paths Of Victory, who is trained by Gareth Van Zyl, is out of the Solskjaer mare Victory Garden.

Noble Tune’s second success on Sunday came when his son Noble Joshua (also trained by Gareth Van Zyl) stayed on gamely to score by a short head when victorious over 1600m.

Another bred by Rathmor Stud, the four-year-old Noble Joshua (runner up in the Fever Tree Stakes at his penultimate start) was ridden to victory by Jabu Jacobs (who also won on Paths Of Victory).

Out of the Joshua Dancer mare Mia Joshua, Noble Joshua has now won five times and has already earned over R380 000 in prize money.

His sire Noble Tune, who shares his sire Unbridled’s Song wih the very promising US stallion Liam’s Map, was a top-class racehorse who captured the G3 Pilgrim Stakes at two and the G2 American Turf Stakes as a three-year-old.
