Mauritzfontein’s exciting young stallion Danon Platina came up with his third first-crop winner on Tuesday when his two-year-old daughter Platina Princess won in open company at Turffontein.
Trained by Mike de Kock, Platina Princess had finished second, to the exciting Egyptian Mau, on her only previous start and was thus dispatched a 14-10 tote favourite for Tuesday’s TAB Telebet 0861 000 822 Maiden Plate (F&M) over 1450 metres.
Under Craig Zackey, the filly powered home down the inside of the track to win as she liked by over six lengths.
Bred by Summerhill Equestrian, the promising Platina Princess is out of the Kahal mare Blonde Princess.
Her sire Danon Platina went close to having a double at Turffontein on Tuesday, with his son Linkin Navigator finishing a close up third in the third race on the card.
