Thursday double for Flower Alley

15th June 2018

Wilgerbosdrift’s well performed resident sire Flower Alley enjoyed a notable Thursday double yesterday, with sons of the Distorted Humor sire scoring at both Penn National and Finger Lakes.

Flower Alley

Consistent five-year-old Flower Alley gelding The Accuser has done nothing wrong in 2018 thus far, and he picked up his second victory from four starts this year (he was also third at Gulfstream Park) when romping to a facile six and a half length win in an allowance over a mile and 70 metres.

The Accuser, who has won or placed in 15 of his 25 outings, was produced by the unplaced Meadowlake mare Lac Du Printemps –an own sister to G1 winner Greenwood Lake.

Durable seven-year-old Broadway Bay, a son of Flower Alley and the Cryptoclearance mare Just A Bella, scored for a fifteenth time on Thursday when landing an allowance race by 3.25 lengths.

The gelding has now won his last two races on the bounce.

Also sire of the 2018 San Juan Capistrano winner Nessy, Flower Alley has nearly 40 stakes horses to his credit and his progeny have already earned more than $35 000 000 in stakes.

Flower Alley, also responsible for the G1 winning champions I’ll Have Another and Lukes Alley, has seven yearlings on offer at the 2018 KZN Yearling Sale.

The 2005 Travers Stakes winner has already enjoyed notable success in South Africa, with his first local yearlings making up to R1.5 million at the 2018 Emperors Palace National Yearling Sale.
