Hemel ‘N Aarde’s successful resident sire Jay Peg had a notable double at the Vaal on Thursday.
The four time G1 winner and former Equus Champion’s daughters Serendipity and Jenny McGee gave their sire a Thursday to remember when winning races six and eight respectively.
It was a 100% strike of winners to runners on Thursday for Jay Peg, with Serendipity and Jenny McGee their sire’s only runners on the card.
Serendipity, bred by David Allan, is owned and trained by Lucky Houdalakis, and the recently turned four-year-old picked up her second career victory when saluting by 1.6 lengths, under jockey Craig Zackey, over 1800m yesterday.
The filly is out of the National Emblem mare Selika.
Jay Peg’s second winner on Thursday came in the form of Jenny McGee, who confirmed the promise of her good latest effort, when third over 1400 at her previous start, when shedding her maiden for trainer Johan van Eck over 1600m.
Out of the Captain Al mare Midship, Jenny McGee is bred on the same cross as graded stakes winning 2yos Flash Drive and Hot Affair.
Her sire Jay Peg, a G1 winner in three different countries, is a well established sire whose other notable graded winners, Flash Drive and Hot Affair aside, include the likes of Peggy Jay, Exit Here, Woljayrine and Olympic Owen.
