Lammerskraal Stud’s successful sire Visionaire enjoyed a memorable Saturday this week, when he was represented by winners in three different countries.
The Visionaire treble included a very smart performance by his well bred 3yo son Bestday Of Mylife, who stormed home to shed his maiden over 1250m at Durbanville on Saturday.
Trained by Brett Crawford, and ridden to victory by Corne Orffer, Bestday Of Mylife ran on powerfully to hold the challenge of favourite Gimmetherain and score a 0.75 of a length win –at just the second time of asking.
Bred on the same Visionaire/Braashee cross as G3 Byerley Turk winner Africa Rising, Bestday Of Mylife was a bargain R45 000 buy from the 2017 KZN Yearling Sale.
Bestday Of My Life, who was bred by Summerhill Stud, has a full-sister on offer at the Emperors Palace Ready To Run Sale next month.
His sire’s other winners over the weekend included Hillah The Hun and Crazy Vision, who saluted at Borrowdale Park and Champ de Mars respectively.
Visionaire, whose mates in 2018 include last season’s Equus and Cape Broodmare Of The Year Strawberry Lane, has an outstanding draft on offer at November’s Emperors Palace Ready To Run Sale in Germiston.
The G1 winning son of Grand Slam’s 33 strong draft at the Germiston sale include siblings to such high class performers as Shogunnar, Admiral’s Eye, Salutation, champion Comanche Brave, and Mauritian star Solar Star.
A half-brother to G1 winner Tara’s Tango and graded stakes winners Scarlet Strike and Madison’s Luna, Visionaire stands for a fee of R20 000 in 2018.
