Turffontein double for Ideal World

23rd Nov 2022

Mauritzfontein’s consistently successful resident stallion Ideal World has been in good form of late, and the blue blooded Kingmambo horse was at it again on Tuesday when Ideal World came up with two more winners at Turffontein.
Progeny of the sire, whose numerous high-class relatives include this season’s G1 winners Belbek and Onesto, won both the fifth and sixth races run at Turffontein on Tuesday.
Ideal World looks to have a very smart three-year-old on his hands in the form of Total Protection, with that gelding running out an impressive winner of Tuesday’s www.gautengsummercup.co.za Graduation Plate (1600m). Under the inform Ryan Munger, the Ashley Fortune trained sophomore powered away to down talented older rival Platinum Sky by nearly two lengths.
Bred by Wilgerbosdrift & Mauritzfontein, Total Protection is out of the Right Approach mare Lizzie Arden.
The son of Ideal World has now won twice from just six starts, with Total Protection having contested the G3 Graham Beck Stakes last time out.
Ideal World is also sire of the hard-knocking Cabinet Shuffle, who stayed on gamely to win a thrilling race when victorious in the Betway Summer Cup 26 November MR 80 Handicap (1500m) on Tuesday.
Under Siyanda Sosibo, the five-year-old chestnut made all to claim the four win of his career and his second win in a row.
The hugely consistent Cabinet Shuffle has now finished first or second in each of his last five starts.
Another bred by Wilgerbosdrift & Mauritzfontein, Cabinet Shuffle is out of the National Emblem mare National Nite Mare.
