Klawervlei Stud’s promising young stallion Twice Over enjoyed a notable winning double this Saturday with his progeny scoring in two different provinces.

First of the champion’s runners to score was the Robbie Sage trained Think Twice, who showed her appreciation for the step up to 1600m by breaking her duck in convincing terms at Turffontein on Saturday.
Bred by the Rosedene Stud, and owned by Sylvia Vrska and Colin Bird, Think Twice was a R125 000 buy from the 2016 Emperors Palace Select Yearling Sale.

Trainer Vaughan Marshall sent out the consistent Flash Twice to win his first race at Kenilworth on Saturday, with the Ken and Jane Truter owned colt gaining a well earned award for consistency (he had been second at his last two outings) with an emphatic length score over 1400 metres.

Bred by the Favour Stud, Flash Twice had cost his connections R225 000 at last year’s Cape Premier Yearling Sale.

Twice Over, whose Normandy Stud bred daughter Libra had won nicely at Kenilworth just days earlier, has now been represented by eight first crop winners, with this tally including the Cape bred champion and Equus Award nominee Sand And Sea.

The four time G1 winner and European champion, whose close relatives include current high class G1 performers Antonoe and Time Test, is fully booked for this season.
