Klawervlei Stud recently received a massive update to the pedigree of one of their best bred mares.

The well related Ixora, a daughter of Dynaformer from the same family as Klawervlei’s promising sire Twice Over, was bought in North America just before her daughter Antonoe established herself a rising star.
A daughter of First Defence, Antonoe, labelled a Rising Star on debut by esteemed industry publication TDN, won her first two races in succession in France as two-year-old –culminating in a smooth two and a half length win in the G3 Prix d’Aumale at Chantilly. A series of physical issues prevented Antonoe from immediately recapturing her best form but since relocating to North America she has been unbeaten and, on Saturday, she joined the ranks of G1 winners.
Antonoe, who made a winning US debut for trainer Chad Brown when scoring over 1700m at Keeneland, stamped herself as one of the top turf females currently racing in North America with a dazzling victory in Saturday’s G1 Longines Just A Game Stakes at Belmont Park.
Antonoe was last in the field of seven older fillies and mares through the early going after breaking well from post 7, with jockey Javier Castellano biding his time well off the pace set by Sassy Little Lila. That one went a quarter-mile in :23.70, a half in :46.92, and three-quarters in 1:09.75, and maintained the advantage into the stretch, but Antonoe was diving down to the inside off the turn for home and rallied swiftly up the inside to claim the score by three-quarters of a length. It was a nose back to third-place finisher, and recent G1 winner, Dickinson.

Antonoe has now won four of just eight starts, with her Just A Game win taking her earnings to $491 337 and appears to be a shooting star in the ranks of US turf distaffers!
Her dam Ixora, who was bred by Juddmonte Farms and who is also the dam of the stakes placed winner Upbeat Mood (by Mizzen Mast), is a granddaughter of G1 Prix Du Moulin winner All At Sea.
Ixora has a Captain Al colt foal this year and is in foal to champion sire Silvano.
