Lammerskraal Stud’s G1 winning and G1 producing sire Visionaire got another handsome update to his pedigree when his half-brother Fireball Shot romped home to a four length maiden win at Saratoga on Sunday.
A son of Street Cry, Fireball Shot is the tenth winner produced by the stakes placed French Deputy mare Scarlet Tango –whose progeny include the stakes winners Visionaire (G1 King’s Bishop Stakes), Tara’s Tango (G1 Santa Margarita Stakes), Madison’s Luna (G3 Hutcheson Stakes), and Scarlet Strike (G3 Providencia Stakes).
Scarlet Tango, who won four times and ran second in the Laura Gal Stakes, has a Curlin colt (Lot 68) on offer at the 2019 Keeneland September Yearling Sale, while her G1 winning daughter Tara’s Tango has a Medaglia D’Oro colt (Lot 138) on the sale.
Visionaire (by Grand Slam) was South Africa’s Leading First Crop Sire in 2014-2015, and Leading Second Crop Sire in 2015-2016 , is the sire of 14 black type performers including G1 Wilgerbosdrift SA Fillies Classic winner Takingthepeace, G2 Gauteng Fillies Guineas winner Heaps Of Fun, and millionaire Africa Rising.
The G1 King’s Bishop Stakes winner has nine lots on this week’s National 2YO Sale, including a half-sister (Lot 69) to the graded stakes winners Fromafar and Armando, and a filly (Lot 163) out of Equus Champion Icy Air.
