Maine Chance Farms’ resident sire Querari has been in good form of late, with his son Cornwall making a smart winning debut at Turffontein on Saturday, and the son of Oasis Dream was at it again when Querari came up with two smart winners at Hollywoodbets Scottsville on Wednesday.
Querari filly Spring Kiss dominated her rivals in Wednesday’s Mobile Betting Visit www.trackandball.co.za Maiden Plate (F&M) over 1400 metres. The Andre Nel trained three-year-old pulled well clear, under Robert Khathi, to win as she liked by four lengths.
Bred and owned by Sabine Plattner, Spring Kiss was making her KwaZulu-Natal debut and just her fourth start in total.
The filly is out of the Western Winter mare Winter Burst.
Querari is also the sire of classy filly Get In The Q, who made it three wins from her last four starts when claiming Wednesday’s Top-Up Your Account With The Tabgold App FM 80 Handicap (F&M) over 1000 metres.
Under Keagan De Melo, the Mark Dixon-trained three-year-old was simply too quick for her rivals with Get In The Q powering away to score by nearly two lengths.
Bred by Blue Sky Thoroughbreds, Get In The Q is out of the Silvano mare Silver Fantasy and is thus bred on the same Querari/Silvano cross as graded stakes winners Cosmic Light, Homely Girl and Wonderwall.
Twice Leading Sire of 2YOS, Querari has 27 lots on offer at the 2023 National Yearling Sale.
