Wednesday double for Querari

7th Dec 2017

Maine Chance Farms’ red hot sire Querari was at it again at the rescheduled Greyville meeting on Wednesday, when the champion son of Oasis Dream enjoyed a mid-week double.

Monks Hood

First of Querari’s runners to score was the Dr Ian Heyns bred 3yo gelding Ouzo, who romped to an impressive 1.75 length maiden win over 1400m.
Out of the Victory Moon mare Anise, Ouzo, who was making just his third career outing, is trained by Alyson Wright.

Querari then doubled up at the Greyville meeting, when his 3yo daughter Song Of Mitu scored a convincing 1.5 length romp over 1400m in the day’s final event on the day.

Bred by the Ambiance Stud, the Pat Lunn trained Song Of Mitu was a R200 000 buy from the 2016 National Yearling Sale.

Her sire Querari is one of South Africa’s most exciting stallion prospects, with the blue blooded sire having produced graded stakes winners in each of his first three full crops to race.

Wonderwall

Querari will also be doubly represented in Saturday’s G2 SW Security Solutions Southern Cross Stakes by his daughters Angel’s Trumpet and Hoist The Mast.

A G1 winning half-brother to 2 group/graded stakes winners including new Klipdrif sire Quasillo, Querari has enjoyed another tremendous season with his stars including G2 Investec Dingaans winner Monks Hood and G2 Joburg Spring Challenge hero Wonderwall. The latter is likely to run next in the G1 Forus Cape Guineas.
