Klawervlei Stud’s red hot sire, and former Equus Champion Sprinter, Captain Of All has made a tremendous start to his stud career, and the former Klawervlei Farm Sale graduate was at it again over the past weekend.
Captain Of All was responsible for a trio of winners over the weekend, with trainer Candice Dawson sending out the sire’s son Storm Commander and daughter Stellar Motion to win the first and sixth races respectively at Turffontein on Saturday. The Ralphs Syndicate bred Storm Commander powered home to shed his maiden by half a length, while his paternal half-sister Stellar Motion (bred by Dr Ian Heyns) made a big impression when romping to a four and a quarter length win over 1200 metres.
The well bred Stellar Motion has now won her last two races in a row and she looks another useful sort for her promising sire.
Captain Of All enjoyed further success the following day when his son Elementary got off the mark at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. Bred by Klawervlei Stud, the three-year-old gelding stayed on gamely to score by a neck for trainer Louis Goosen.
South Africa’s Leading First Crop Sire for 2018-2019, Captain Of All has made a tremendous start with his first crop (now three) headed by G2 TAB/Betting World Dingaans winner Shango and the stakes winning fillies Captain Anne Bonny (East Cape Fillies Nursery) and What You Are (Lenasia Rising Sun Devon Air Stakes).
The champion’s second crop is also looking promising, with Captain Of All set to be represented in Saturday’s Listed Cape Town And Western Cape Marketed By Wesgro Summer Juvenile Stakes by unbeaten fillies Dad’s Catch and Captain’s Flo, as well as the promising Emblem Of Hope.
Without a doubt one of South Africa’s most promising young sires, and one of nearly 100 stakes winners sired by Klawervlei’s late, great Captain Al, Captain Of All has nine lots on the upcoming Cape Yearling Sale.
