Drakenstein Stud’s champion sire Trippi, currently South Africa’s Leading Sire of 3YOs by stake money, had another good weekend with yet another trio of winners this past weekend.
Fifty Cents, winner of the 2016 Listed Jet Master Stakes, picked up the sixth win of his career when victorious for in-form trainer Justin Snaith at Kenilworth on Saturday.
Bred by Drakenstein Stud, Fifty Cents has now won two in a row with his one and a quarter length win over Perovskia and the stakes winning Street Cry gelding Macduff this weekend.
Trippi also enjoyed a quick double at Greyville this weekend, when his Flamenco Dancer and On That Boulevard both won their respective races on Sunday.
Bred by Riethuiskraal Stud, the 3yo Flamenco Dancer justified 21-20 favourite with a devastating 4.5 length win over 1200m for trainer Dennis Bosch and jockey Anton Marcus.
The filly, out of the Complete Warrior mare Pirate Lady, is bred on the same Trippi/Complete Warrior cross as G1 winner Deo Juvente and star sprinter Trip Tease.
Trippi’s lightly raced son On That Boulevard made it two wins from just three outings when downing G1 Gold Medallion runner up Varallo over 1200m on Sunday and On That Boulevard looks to have scope to win more races.
The 3yo colt, who was bred by Klawervlei Stud, has a full-sister on offer at January’s Cape Premier Yearling Sale.
Sire of 68 stakes winners worldwide, including five time G1 winner Inara, Trippi (whose top class daughter Live Life ran third in Saturday’s G2 SW Security Solutions Southern Cross Stakes) will be represented by sons White River and Cot Campbell in Saturday’s G1 Forus Cape Guineas at Kenilworth.
The champion sire has 11 lots on the 2018 Cape Premier Yearling Sale, including a colt out of Captain Al’s top class daughter Tick Tock (Lot159), a half-brother to dual G1 winner Rabada (Lot 38) and a colt out of multiple Equus Champion Beach Beauty (Lot210).
