More success for Argonaut

More success for Argonaut
Former Equus Champion 2YO Colt, Argonaut, had another winner over the weekend.
The stallion’s son, Ernie or Els, broke his maiden by an impressive seven lengths, when successful at Borrowdale on Sunday.

Argonaut’s other first crop winners include the Gr1 contender Copybook, and the eye catching filly, Cassia.

An exceptional juvenile, Argonaut won three of his four career starts. Following on a maiden win, where he defeated subsequent Gr2 Dingaans winner Lion’s Blood, Argonaut jumped straight into Grade One company when second to exciting young sire Seventh Rock in the Gold Medallion.

Argonaut then reeled off back to back Gr1 wins when winning both the Gr1 Golden Horseshoe and Premier’s Champion Stakes in facile fashion.
Named Equus Champion 2yo of 2007, Argonaut was sent to Australia but never raced there due to injury.

By champion sire Western Winter, Argonaut is one of five stakes winners produced by the outstanding broodmare Aquasarto.
He stands at the Cheveley Stud for R12 000.
