The 2013 Emperors Palace National Yearling Sale, which kicks off on Friday, looks an exceptional strong catalogue. Many of the country’s top stud farms have exciting drafts on offer at the country’s oldest premier sale.
All the country’s top stallions are well represented on the sale. The National Sale will also see 27 yearlings by the late, great Jet Master on offer. Among them are a filly out of champion Consensual, a half-brother to this season’s top-class 3yo Tellina and colts out of G1 winners Zaitoon, Urabamba, and champion Lady Windermere.
The sale will also feature a special tribute to one of Jet Master’s greatest sons, J J The Jet Plane. The former champion will be paraded at the TBA’s Germiston complex on 26th April at 9:30 am, as part of a tribute to Jet Master and his last crop ever to be sold on a the National Yearling Sale.
Perennial leading sires Captain Al, Dynasty, Fort Wood, Silvano, Western Winter and Var also have strong and enticing looking drafts, while a number of promising young sires will also be represented at the National Sale. The likes of Admire Main, Antonius Pius, Jay Peg, Judpot, Rebel King, Royal Air Force and Sail From Seattle have all made excellent starts to their respective stud careers, and all have yearlings on offer.
Among the stallions with their first yearlings on sale are A P Answer (7) Brave Tin Soldier (4), Elusive Fort (2), Fort Beluga (2), Ideal World (2), King’s Apostle (4), Lateral (6), Mambo In Seattle (24), Oracy (1) and Seventh Rock (10).
The catalogue also includes lots by such top-class international stallions as Dylan Thomas, Encosta de Lago, Henrythenavigator and Tale of The Cat.
The National Sale also offers buyers to acquire yearlings out of such G1 winning racemares as Badger’s Gift (Dynasty colt), Bold Ellinore (Trippi colt), Circle Of Life (Trippi colt), Geepee S (Captain Al filly), Pacific Blue (Jet Master filly), Private Reserve (Western Winter filly), Silver Arc (Judpot colt) and Wonderful World (Dynasty colt).
