Avontuur’s exciting new stallion, Oratorio, was represented by yet another top-flight winner when his son Military Attack captured Sunday’s G1 Hong Kong Gold Cup.
In winning the $8,000,000 event, the gelded Military Attack defeated a star studded field, which included such G1 winners as Fay Fay, Xtension and California Memory, as well as several other of Hong Kong’s top performers.
The gelding had previously won the G3 January Cup, but Sunday’s big race was a first triumph in G1 company for him.
Champion sire in Italy last year, Oratorio has now been represented by five G1 winners – in five different countries.
He also has an exciting local prospect in the unbeaten Orator’s Daughter, who looks to have a bright future ahead of her.
A fee is yet to be set for the triple G1 winning son of Danehill, who is one of the best of his generation, both on the track and at stud.
Oratorio, who has a tremendous temperament, will stand alongside Avontuur’s outstanding resident sire, Var – sire of reigning Horse of the Year, Variety Club.
