Oratorio filly bound for Breeders Cup!
Champion racehorse, and leading sire, Oratorio, has already had an unforgettable year in 2013. His sons, Miliary Attack and Biz The Nurse, have won at the highest level in Hong Kong, Singapore and Italy. Military Attack was, in fact, named Hong Kong’s Horse of the Year, while Biz The Nurse became the first 3yo in nearly 30 years to win one of Italy’s greatest races – the Group One Gran Premio Di Milano.
Oratorio’s latest star is the US based Clenor, who ran out an eye catching winner of Monday’s Oak Tree Juveniles Turf – a stakes race worth over $100 000. An impressive 3.25 victor, Clenor stamped herself as a strong contender for the Grade One, $1 000 000 Breeders Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf, which will be run at Santa Anita in November.
Now unbeaten in two starts in the US, Clenor has won her two North American starts by an aggregate of nearly six lengths.
She is the 36th stakes winner for Oratorio, who was last year’s champion sire Italy, and who is again heading the Italian general sires log. His offspring have earned over $25 000 000 in prize money thus far.
Another daughter of the triple group one winner, Viztoria, has been entered in Saturday’s Group One Fusaichi Pegasus Matron Stakes – a 1600m race for fillies and mares to be run at Leopardstown.
Fully booked for his first season in South Africa, the Avontuur based Oratorio stands his first season in this country at a fee of R80 000.
