Oratorio filly lines up for classic trial
Avontuur’s world class young sire, Oratorio, will be represented by a runner in one of the first British classic trials, to be held at Newbury this Saturday.

Cape Factor, who won four of her five outings as a 2yo, is one of 13 3yo fillies set to line up in Saturday’s G3 Dubai Duty Free Stakes (registered as the Fred Darling Stakes).  This 1400m contest has been won by some outstanding fillies in the past most notably  Marwell, Salsabil, Shadayid, Wince and the mighty Bosra Sham.

Cape Factor, who is out of the Cape Cross mare Crossanza , scored a smart win in the Listed Bosra Sham Stakes last season, and she looks well above average.

She does take on a tough field, which includes high-class stakes fillies Al Thakira, Coral Mist and Frankel’s half-sister Joyeuse.

Cape Factor is one of 40 stakes winners for triple Gr1 winner Oratorio (also sire of recent Gr3 Jacaranda Handicap winner Orator’s Daughter).

The son of Danehill was fully booked with an outstanding book of mares during his first season in South Africa, and the future looks very bright for Oratorio!
